14 years of remission & hopefully many more years for us all! 🥳
Hi, Friend! 😊
Today, I am celebrating 14 years of remission from stage 4 melanoma. I was first diagnosed at 17 years of age, and since I also turned 35 today I realized I've practically lived a whole other "lifetime" since my diagnosis! Thank You God, the healing plants He created, the practitioners I've worked with and everyone who has helped and encouraged me along the way! This also would not have been possible without the hope I had in the nutrition and treatments I chose and that God might exist and be willing to use these things to heal me.
Speaking of hope, when first healed, I did not think far into the future; I only saw the "now," having the shock of escaping what many people saw as certain death and living for the immediate future. Thank goodness my future has extended quite a bit! So now, partly due to my experience of having more years of being healthy (also known as durable remission) and growing into adulthood and seeing a need for it, I've been hopeful and investing for my future.
I thought it would be worth mentioning to you, as you are health-minded and hopefully planning for years from now(!), that I believe organic farmland is worth investing in for our future and/or the future of those you love. Not only would it ensure the availability of organic food for us in the years to come, help encourage organic to be the norm as a food source and decrease our dependence on foreign imports for organic crops (as the US is a net importer of organic foods) (1 and 2), it would also provide for our future needs. According to an article in The Alternative Investor (March, 2025), in the last few decades that it's been in existence, data obtained by the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries’ (NCREIF) has shown that farmland has produced a return that's greater overall than the Dow Jones index, and, even when the Dow Jones index went significantly in the negative (by 41.3%), there was still a positive return on farmland investments. If you are investing or wish to, Iroquois Valley Farmland REIT is a company I believe in that is worth looking into.
I hope my story is helpful and encouraging to you today. Please share it with anyone you believe needs to hear it!
Let's continue to hope for good health, thanking God for the blessings that come!
Prayers and best wishes,
Bailey 🍏
