Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
I am excited. My heart is racing as I write this newsletter for you, as I think about all the possibilities, changes and opportunities ahead – for both me and you! I’m excited to see what 2015 has in store for all of us, and I am optimistic that 2015 could be the best year of each of our lives (so far)!
If you’re going through a tough time, you may think I’m naïve or overly optimistic, but no matter how bad or good your 2014 was, your 2015 can be even better. I have reason to believe that you could even experience a miracle this year, because nearly 4 years ago, I was cured of “incurable” cancer and given a second chance at life. It’s completely changed my perspective and opened my eyes to what is and isn’t possible – and now I believe that all things are possible, with God.
I believe that no obstacle is too great to overcome, and you should never give up. I see great potential and have hope for a positive future for all of you, because I know how far I’ve had to come to get to where I am now, most importantly in my health, but also in my public speaking – you should’ve seen my 8th grade earth science project presentation when I cried in front of a cafeteria full of my peers and their parents! Now I laugh about it, but at the time I was terrified and horrified! So the fact that I’ve chosen a career as a speaker means I’ve had to grow a lot and overcome my fear of speaking, which has only been possible by speaking more and more.
Reaching our goals can be scary and/or painful, but it’s always worth it! The key is to not give up. Even if you feel like you’ve failed or gotten knocked down more times than you can count, one of the beauties of life is that you don’t need to wait for a new year to try again, to get back up, or to start believing that there’s something to hope for. It’s a new year; but more importantly, it’s a new day. Each day, even each moment is another chance to start fresh. So as we enter the new year, let’s learn from our past, embrace our current challenges, and press forward to the future believing that all things are possible – because they are!
Wishing you a healthy and joyous new year,
Bailey
