One Year of Videos - Complete! :)

How are you doing? :)

If you were around last February you might know that I started recording videos documenting my cancer healing journey from a retrospective view with the intent of getting closer to publishing a book some day. I said I would record a series of videos for one year, and well, by God's grace, I did!

Last week I recorded something while driving and it was meant to be just a practice run, but it turned out pretty well so here ya go!

You can see in the video that I'm holding the phone (sorry!) :( so I bought a clip for my car and now if I need to record again it will be done hands-free!! (See the proof below...)

Now that that's out of the way! Here's what the video is about...

I was a 20-year-old student-athlete just looking for a break from a very dark and stressful time - recovering from mutilating surgeries and radiation treatments for stage 3 recurring melanoma, during what would have been my senior year of college. Instead of a relaxing vacation and training trip with my teammates, what came next preceded one of the saddest, most heartbreaking moments of my life. My health became a fast-ticking time-bomb and the decisions I made in the coming weeks would be critical factors affecting whether I lived or died. Not knowing what I believed, I began to pray, as did many others. Looking back now I see it as the most critical domino in a chain of events that led me on a rollercoaster ride to where I am today. In the moment, I felt broken, but looking back now, with all that happened I'm actually so grateful for it.
